At IMC Engadine Martial Arts we always recommend training at least two classes a week and here is why:
Consistency is key in martial arts training and can be the difference between success and failure. It is essential that you consistently train and practice your martial arts skills to develop muscle memory and improve your technique.
Consistency is essential in building and maintaining a strong foundation for your martial arts training. By consistent practice, you will be able to improve your physical fitness, increase your balance and agility, as well as develop your mental focus and discipline.
One of the most significant benefits of consistency is the development of muscle memory. This muscle memory allows you to perform techniques without thinking about them consciously. By repeatedly performing the same techniques, your body will develop the muscle memory required to perform them naturally, making your movements more fluid and effective.
Regular training will also increase your endurance, strength and flexibility. These physical attributes will help improve your martial arts skills and allow you to perform at a higher level which we encourage all our students to strive for.
Consistent practice of martial arts will also develop your mental focus and discipline. As you train, you will learn to focus on the task at hand, block out distractions, and remain calm and centered under pressure. Consistent practice develops discipline because it requires a commitment to follow through with regular training, even on days when you may not feel like it. With many young children and increased screen time becoming such a huge part of our young generation this has become increasingly difficult. Of course, many children would rather sit at home on an ipad playing internet games with their mates instead of going to school, but as a parent you understand the importance of a childs education. We need to help children understand the same importance of Martial Arts for the personal development, motor skills, co-ordination, discipline and the invaluable lesson of teaching them they must stick to something to reach their goals.
Finally, consistency will help you set and achieve your martial arts goals. Whether you want to improve your technique, win a tournament, or simply become better at self-defense, consistent practice is vital for achieving your goals.
So, make a commitment to consistent practice, and watch as your skills improve over time.
