What are Tip Testings and Gradings? How it works:
Tip Testing
The Karate programs require a minimum of two classes per week if you wish to participate in our grading cycles. Tip testing is an in house assessment free of charge which ensures the students are keeping up with the required technique.
Tip tests begin 8 weeks before the grading date with 4 tip tests being held. In order for a Karate student to be eligible for grading the student must successfully attend and receive three tips on the same side of their karate belt.
Tip test 1 - Students are tested on Stances, Blocks and Attacks
Tip test 2 - Students are tested on Kicks, Body Control and Self Defence
Tip test 3 - Students are tested on Kata
Catch up tip test - Students are tested on all the moves needed for this cycle.
Gradings
Gradings are usually conducted every third month rotating on a 12 week cycle. Gradings cost $60 which is paid when submitting the grading form. You must wear full uniform. Once you pass your grading, you will be awarded your new belt and a certificate.
